Pato outperforms Kaka in Prestigious CL clash!

October 20, 2009 - Leave a Response

As Milan took on Real Madrid in the Bernabeu earlier on today, most people were looking foward to seeing Madrid midfielder Kaka come up againts his former team or Ronaldinho to shine once more againts the all whites.. However one kid stole the show and outperformed both superstars in this exciting clash of Giants.

Alexandre Pato, (the duck) of AC Milan was a terror to the Spanish sides defence all night and took his first ever goals in the champions league expertly to bring back three precious points with him as he returns home.

Madrid capitalized on a spectacular Dida blunder to open the scoring in the first half but Pirlo equalized in the 60th minute as Milan dramatically improved in the second half gaining the lead through Pato who cleverly skipped over an outrushing Cassillas to score into an empty net, and later score the match winner after Drenthe equalized for Madrid and Thiago Silva had a Late goal controversially dissallowed.

Let’s hope Dunga and the Brazilian technical staff were watching.

Real Madrid vs Milan, Ronaldinho & Kaka Faceoff.

The Santiago Bernabeu is a sacred place in terms of Soccer, the stadium that sits on the outskirts of Madrid is home to the City’s main Club Real and has hosted tons of memorable games and seen even more magical moments of brilliance including the two goals Brazilian Maestro Ronaldinho scored in the 2005 edition of Lo Classico while playing with F.C Barcelona.

Wednesday afternoon when Real Madrid will meet AC Milan in a Champions League clash of giants, Kaka former Milan midfielder of 6 years will come up againts his former teamates of many years Pirlo, Ambrosini, Dida, Seedorf , Nesta, and more recent ones Pato, & Ronaldinho, while lining up alonside some of the games best Karim Benzema, Xabi Alonso, Sergio Ramos and Iker Cassillas.

The game promises to be mouth watering and all eyes will be fixed upon Ronaldinho and Kaka two players who have played key roles in thier clubs successes in European football over the years.. but one question remains unanswered, “who will come out on top come at the end of stoppage time?” can it be Ronaldinho or will it be Kaka.

who will shine on wednesday?

Brazil vs Argentina Preview.

Kaka Poses for Brazil.

Kaka Poses for Brazil.

Dunga’s troops will travel south in a few weeks to take on Diego Maradona’s Argentina.

This game is certainly an important one considering the opponent, Argentina is one that should never be underestimated although they havent been at thier upmost best; Maradona’s men will possibly have to come out strong and impress againts Brazil if they are to retain at least some hope for a spot in the 2010 World Cup.

On the Brazil point of view, with Qualification virtually asumed with a tie or better yet win; Dunga’s men are simply expected to deliver and get a result. more important than the result in my mind is entertaining football because the most recent friendly againts Estonia this month, a (1-0) win courtesy of Luis Fabiano was just cruely boring to watch.

But with Ronaldinho and Pato, this weeks Serie A hero’s left out we may be in for some more snore stimulating football. here is the squad announced by Dunga for the game.

Goalkeepers: Julio Cesar (Inter Milan), Victor (Gremio)

Defenders: Andre Santos (Fenerbahce), Daniel Alves (Barcelona), Maicon (Inter Milan), Filipe (Deportivo La Coruna), Lucio (Inter Milan), Luisao (Benfica), Miranda (Sao Paulo), Juan (AS Roma)

Midfielders: Elano (Galatasaray), Felipe Melo (Juventus), Gilberto Silva (Panathinaikos), Josue (VfL Wolfsburg), Ramires (Benfica), Julio Baptista (AS Roma), Kaka (Real Madrid), Lucas (Liverpool)

Forwards: Luis Fabiano (Sevilla), Nilmar (Villarreal), Robinho (Manchester City), Adriano (Flamengo)

Can Ronaldinho Make A Comeback?

August 19, 2009 - 2 Responses

It is no secret that Ronaldo De Assis Morreira, most commonly known as Ronaldinho in full form can rival Maradona and Pele even as the most talented player the world of Football has ever witnessed.

His famed feints, Dribbles, and laser like freekicks coupled with the joy he finds while playing had transformed the bucktooth Brazilian into a global hero since his rise to stardom after Brazil’s Succesful 2002 W.C campaign and his arrival at Barcelona.

But sadly he will go down in history probably as the one player to have suffered the steadiest decline in overrall quality also. no longer a player of feints, and dribbles with speed since the nightmare that was the 2006 World Cup for a star studded Brazil… Ronaldinho still remains a prolific passer of the ball and gifted set piece specialist.

But one main Question remains, with his spot in the Selecao for next years Wold Cup virtually jeopardized at the moment and his new found Responsibility to lead Milan to glory this term by supporting Pato, and new signing Hunteelar.. Can Ronaldinho make the much expected Certified Comeback?

It must be also worth mentioning that Ronaldinho has looked a much improved player with Milan this term despite their horrible pre-season form.

Ronaldo Suprised By Dunga’s Accomplishments.

Ronaldo, the real one winner of two world cup titles and numerous other titles; no disrespect meant to Cristiano of course.. well has admitted that Dunga’s accomplishments as Selecao head coach has taken him by suprise. it has taken us all by suprise hasnt it? after all the ex-Fiorentina midfielder had no managerial experience prior to his appointment as National team boss.

anyhow now back to Ronaldo, a man who has been scoring many goals at Corinthians since his latest miraculous comeback from injury feels that Dunga has been very successful at the helm of the Brazilian national team, leading the team to success in the Copa America and, most recently, the Confederations Cup.

the already legendary striker said, “The team is being very well prepared by Dunga, Each day I am more surprised by his quality as a coach, by his choices.”

Although he has yet to get called up by Dunga since his appointment in 2006 after the disastrous World Cup campaign in Germany, its great to see Ronaldo hold no grudges and congratulate his coach on a job well done. however his phenomenal performances back home in Brazil if continued will be sure not to go unoticed but for now Ronaldo is fully focused on his club football and apparently is not to worried about his lack of Selecao action.

Despite this fact, he would still jump at the possibility of representing Brazil again in the near future. he said; “I miss it [playing for Brazil] a lot, but everything has its moment.  If I return to the team, I will take that moment.

“But right now I am like a Brazilian supporter, in love with football.”

Kaka Dedicates Confederations Cup Truimph to Milan Fans.

Kaka, a who always had the upmost of class has dedicated the Selecao’s latest accomplishment; winning the Confederations Cup for a record third title since its creation to the always affectionate Milan fans.

Brazil’s midfield maestro questioned about the competition ahead of his unveiling at Real Madrid scheduled some time this week, spoke about his former team and as always had some kind words for the fans and management.

Kaka stated; “  “I will never be Milan’s enemy. I dedicate this trophy [the Confederations Cup] to the Rossoneri fans as they will always be in my heart. I am where I am because of Milan,”

You will always be in our hearts as well Kaka, especially a Milan and Selecao fan like myself, a special player like yourself surely will not waste any time in making your mark in Spain. just make sure you dont score in the Champions league againts us.

After six fruitful and wonderful seasons at the San Siro Kaka shockingly left Milan for Real Madrid almost exactly one month ago for a mammoth fee of 62 Million euro’s. with the capture of not only him but Cristiano Ronaldo, Florentino Perez seems poised to launch yet another generation of Galacticos.

  • Gilberto Silva advises Felipe Melo to join Arsenal after his impressive play in the Confederations Cup, do i smell a Fabregas exit this soon already? the man’s only 22 and i can believe i am saying this after he’s played like 6 Seasons in North London already.

  • Ribery is now the primary target of Manchester United, and Real Madrid in the transfer market and both clubs have tons of Cash to spend how long can Bayern Munich resist the temptation to sell? who knows but just in case Sir Alex Ferguson is eyeing Douglas Costa (the new Ronaldinho they say to fill the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo.

  • To thier fans despise Milan eye Miranda and the new Brazil national team left back Andre Santos to heal the teams defensive woes. when it comes to a signing they’d need Hernanes would be a good look, and although most Italian fans arent happy at Milan’s crush on our players i wont blame them because the five World Cups won dont lie. as long as Galliani keeps his interest in the young one’s the team will be fine.

Pato to Stay on Strong at Milan!

June 29, 2009 - 2 Responses

Yes you heard it here first, Adriano Galliani and Milan’s other executives have declared that they have no intentions of selling thier 19 year old star foward Alexandre Pato. the wonderkid has been linked with possible moves to the Premier league and La liga, presumably Chelsea F.C or Real Madrid to reconciliate with former coach Carlo Ancelotti at the bridge or teamate Kaka at the Bernabeu..

But Milan are adament that they will Not accept any bid for the Brazilian and since they have already turned down a bid in excess of 60 Million for the young ace from an unidentified club, they’d be at ease to deny Ancelotti the chance to pounce with an improved 59 Million bid compared to the meager 40 Million the blues initially offered!

when you compare it to what Real Madrid are currently paying for stars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka the sum for Pato does sound meager, i mean doesnt it?

Pele, Robinho’s unloved former guardian as you all should know is a huge admirer of Senor Diego Ribas Da Cunha; Juventus’ new star signing for the upcoming Serie A season. a player Pele has known well since he virtually raised him and the Manchester City ace back in thier Santos days has been tipped to become a hit in Italy by the Brazilian legend himself.

In an Interview to PuntoSport.net, Pele declared that the ex- Werder Bremen star is one that has immense quality and wont waste time to showcase it to the Juventus fans once the Calcio kicksoff again in late august. the Brazilian hero went on to add “I know him well, because like Robinho he comes from Santos. I saw him grow and mature and now he’s ready for Juventus. He will do very well.”

a man known for his too many controversial statements, its surprising to see Pele stay out of trouble, praise a player well for once instead of bashing and jinxing them like he regularly does to Robinho. good job O’ Rei!

South Africa USA Brazil Confed Cup SoccerAPTOPIX South Africa USA Brazil Confed Cup SoccerSouth Africa USA Brazil Confed Cup SoccerSOCCER-CONFEDERATIONS/the Selecao had it all to do yesterday after finding themselves 2-0 down againts an opponent most thought would be easily defeated.. United States. Bob Bradley and his boys adapted South Africa’s tactical game againts Dunga for this one and pressured the Brazilian defence early on and found themselves two goals to the good before the half hour mark.

Clint Dempsey and Landon Donovan both helped prove that US Soccer has made great strides since the last two worlds cups while giving Brazil a lot to think about at the interval.

But the half-time talk in the Auriverde locker room seems to have done the trick as they came out in vibrant mood in the second half attacking unrelentlessly to stage the most thrilling and memorable comebacks in a Fifa final’s history by avoiding what would of gone down to be a great upset.

Luis Fabiano netted after a fabulous turn straight after the restart, Kaka had a controversial goal dissalowed (Fifa needs to implement video evidence for these types of happenings pronto!), then the new Real Madrid man stormed on one of his ghosting runs to tee up Robinho who despite playing an absolutely horrendous game did well to divert the ball unto the crossbar only to see a hungry Luis Fabiano tie the game and clinch the Golden Shoe all at once.

Lucio then restored the pride of his coach, country and the backline he failed to hold together in the first half as he notted in a corner kick to officially crown Brazil as the new 2009 Confederations Cup champions!
